Christian and Tanya : Engagement (part II)

Christian and Tanya met in the city, dated in the city and fell in love in this beautiful city. It was only fitting that we ended their weekend engagement shoot in Chicago with the beautiful skyline and not to mention the FREEZING wind. Yes, that entire week had been warm, almost even hot, with the beautiful sun blazing. As we drove back into Chicago from being at Tanya's parents we were feeling the temperature drop and drop some more. When it was finally time to start the shoot I swear it was in the negatives! Maybe not quite that low since it was May, but for this Texan it was close enough. The biggest trooper of the day has to go to Christian. He had come down with a terrible cold and had a fever, chills and a sore throat, but he was dead set on doing the shoot despite either one of the colds.

I love this city. I would move there in a heart beat if I could stand to live for so many months in the below 0 temps and crazy winds. I was so please at the choice these two made for their engagements. I always like for my clients to choose places that are meaningful to them and boy did these to get it just right.

Here are a few of my favorites. And Chris and Tanya -- thank you so much for allowing me the pleasure! I can not wait until the wedding!!! Love - B

Christian and Tanya : Engagement (part 1)

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of flying out to Chicago to document the love between what I now call two great friends (hmm maybe one day family) I felt like it was only perfect to be documenting this time in their life when I was so lucky to witness their budding relationship in the beginning. Two summers ago I took a trip to Chicago with Bryan, to visit his cousin, Christian. When we got there Christian informed Bryan and I there would be another person joining us -- Tanya was warm and welcoming and fun to listen to with her slight Chicago accent. I liked her from the start. This being my first time meeting Christian as well, was just as warm and one of the most hospitable people I've ever met. He made sure that his cousin and his cousin's girlfriend, whom he had never met, had the best possible time in his city of Chicago.

So on Memorial Weekend I took a little trip up to Chicago. For part one, the three of us drove out to the country (which I was pleased to do since when I go to new places I don't usually get to go on road trips away from the city) Tanya's family are farmers -- of Greenfield Farms. They live and work some of the most beautiful country I've seen. It was only fitting that Tanya would want part of their engagements to be out where she grew up. Tanya's Mom and Dad were so awesome and opened up their home to me and I couldn't be more thrilled to see them again at the wedding. So without further ado, here are a few of my favorites from the session. Coming soon is part two -- the Chicago shoot.

One of my favorites...Christian being serious!! He likes to joke!
as you can see here.
my favorite.
Tanya is beautiful. I love her red hair...I've always wished I had hair like that!

At "The Elevator" This is the main offices of Greenfield Farms and well all the other stuff that goes with running a farming business.

Christian's idea! :) This is Tanya's niece and nephew's mustangs...

Christian -- always playing around.
