Laura and Leslie : Engagement

It was dark and quiet in the little wine bar in downtown Austin - only hearing the hushed whispers of the couples sitting next to me at the bar and the clinking of wine glasses. While I patiently waited for them to arrive to VinoVino - the butterflies were a raging. I have a love/hate relationship with butterflies - the stomach kind. I'm excited to be meeting my new clients but nervous I'll stick my foot in my mouth or fall flat on my face. You know kinda like a first date.

Laura and Leslie are really those kind of people you meet and fall in love with. Laura's huge open- mouthed laugh (which I loved) and her zest for life grabbed me right away while Leslie's calm, confident smile beamed when he heard her laugh. Last Tuesday I got a little email from Laura asking for some engagements - they are getting married in North Carolina but decided to have some pictures taken in their home town of Austin - We met Friday for the pictures and it really was a great night for them. The weather gods decided to give us a little break from the slap you to the ground and smother a pillow over you Texas heat. It was nice and breezy - mixed with great company - make it an all together great picture taking evening!

Jenna : Bridals

I loved everything about this shoot - the dress, the puppy, the weather and the beautiful Texas country side at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Tiemann. I loved the contrast of the girlie and fabulous side of Jenna mixed with her family's farm - it made for the perfect sassy yet country shoot that is what I love shooting. Jenna's wedding was a few months back and I have been meaning to blog her bridals for awhile. It's so hard to take bridals and love them and not be able to post them right away - due to that little factor that no one can see the bride before the big day - I posted Jenna and Scott's wedding a few weeks ago - it was beautiful and rainy - so now you'll be able to see the Tiemann's beautiful farm a little more clear!

Carla and JP : Engagement

It's no surprise to anyone when you see these two you think of love....and boy are they in it - yes JP that means you too. This macho and tough guy would do anything for his new love and soon to be bride.

As the story goes, Carla and JP both grew up in their hometown of La Grange - JP a few years older - so their paths crossed little - who knew that Carla and JP would wind up together, back in LG but it happened and no one could deny the sparks that flew between these two. I didn't know JP very well before the shoot - only knew of him - so meeting him and seeing him with Carla was such a pleasant surprise - she's got him - no doubt about it. I've known Carla for many years and it's so exciting for a friend to find love and have the wedding she's always wanted!

We met up at the golf course for the first location - I was thinking to myself "the golf course" when Carla told me this - but she further explained this was where JP proposed - at hole 4 (am I right?) He said he give her golf lessons- raced home from wherever he was and put the ring in the hole - not so macho now are you?? kidding - it was an incredibly sweet proposal story and I'm so happy for these two.

They were a bit giddy at the beginning of the shoot - nerves? no way....
