Grady : 9.17.09

He squeezed my finger. At that moment a sigh of relief escaped me and I knew that this little guy stole my heart and I would soon be wrapped around his tiny perfect little finger. Becoming an aunt for the first time is such a true gift. All of the preparations, waiting, hoping, praying and guessing was finally over and now this new little creature was sleeping so soundlessly in my arms. How could we all love someone whom we'd only known for about 5 minutes? Oh but we do. I love my (sister's) baby. My poor sister. She was brave, strong, kind and so sweet during the birth of her little 9 pound guy - pushing for close to 3 hours - knowing that he'd be worth it when he finally came out. My poor brother-in-law. He was brave, encouraging, calm and quiet while awaiting the birth of their baby. Together they make the perfect team and it is so amazing to see that they are already amazing parents to the new Grady John Kocian.

People keep saying that they feel sorry for Grady - having me for an aunt constantly having my camera in his face - pff whatever - that child is LUCKY - he's gonna be my little model.

We all spent a few hours waiting -

IT'S A BOY! This was the most amazing moment - when I found out if I had a nephew or a niece

10 fingers and 10 toes....

This is my mom. I'm sure her heart was bursting while holding her grandbaby for the first time.
When Karissa first held her baby he grabbed her finger tight - he knew it was his mommy.
This is Rose - Eric's mom. This is her 5th grandchild and she said every one is like the first one - or maybe that was said by Franklin - Eric's dad.

Eric and his son.

This is me - Aunt B and my baby Grady!

Now this is Grady five days old...he really is the most precious thing - EVER!
And one last one of him sleeping so beautifully in his mom's arms.

Christian and Tanya : Wedding Part 1

I couldn't have been more excited for Christian and Tanya's Illinois wedding this past Saturday. Mel and I flew out on Friday in time for the festivities to begin. I was looking forward to seeing their families again, seeing them become man and wife AND I was thrilled to be escaping the Texas heat for at least ONE wedding! It was a beautiful day for a wedding - Tanya had the day planned so smoothly from start to finish. I love their wedding pictures so much I'm dividing them into two posts. Today is the first half of their wedding day.

Christian and Tanya - you must know how much I adore you and can't be happier to call you friends. Have fun in Southern California basking in the sun and getting facials!

Enjoy.

My day started out with a kitchen full of girls getting ready! Loved it.

Her adorable wedding shoes and the John Deere bike - thought her dad would appreciate!
Some of Tany's details. The broach on the bouquet is her grandmothers. (or maybe great?)
THE dress. I've beeing trying and trying to remember the designer- all I know is she was the FIRST to purchase this dress fresh off the runway.
When I asked if I could take it outside I think her mom was a wee bit nervous - but don't worry I was extremely careful - and look at it outside! beautiful!

Tanya was the most beautiful bride!!

I loved these girls!!
Yeah they had a stretch Hummer limo taking them from place to place on the wedding day.
the groom. Christian also made a very handsome groom.
The suits were a gift for all the groomsmen and they look HOT - well and very chic and classy!

They had their names stitched into their suit jacket.

I loved their traditional exit from the church - all the guests stayed behind to see them off.
CORN!

love.
a little sneak of what's to come in the next post.....

love you guys!!
